Birthday!

As this is the first day that this blog has existed, you might call it it's birthday!

Hi, it's Alex, and i am just now gathering pics up from this weekend's adventures. We went to Michigan International Speedway (MIS) for an awesome race. on Saturday, We (Ed, Nan, Alex, Cousin Alex, Pat (Alex's wife), Scott,and his wife Becky) attended Indy Racing League Qualifying. Dario Franchitti took the Pole with a speed of 218.308 MPH. on Sunday we arrived late, because the race had been postponed by a four-hour rain delay.

We arrived just in time to use the Pit Passes we had to check out the cars up close. I hope to have some pics of that up soon! We were able to observe the race from the prime point of the Champions Club! The Best seats in the house situated above the Start/Finish line at the top of the main grandstands. (i hope for there to be a picture there too). The racing was incredibly intense!! the best racing i have ever seen! In person or on TV.

The most spectacular crash ever occurred on lap 143 when Dario Franchitti's wheel touched with Dan Wheldon's, spinning him sideways. his car acted as a wing, and scooped air , sending Dario flying, or as the announcer put it "pirouette"-ing through the air. Six cars were eventually involved.Thankfully, Everyone escaped unharmed and only a little dizzy.
